NHS deploys workforce management solution

A number of UK hospitals have struck fresh deals with a group of software vendors to provide a package of workforce management solutions.

The NHS Workforce Solutions Community, which comprises Smart/HMT, Zircadian and Software Europe, has collaborated to come up with an offering aimed at the sector. The breadth of the solution includes rostering for doctors, nurses and other staff, staff bank management, time and attendance, payroll interface to Electronic Staff Records (ESR), and expenses management.

Under the agreement, North Bristol NHS Trust, Trafford Healthcare NHS Trust, the Royal Bournemouth and Christchurch Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust, and Royal Berkshire NHS Foundation Trust will implement Software Europe’s Expenses 2010 solution.

Additionally, hospital trusts in Bedford, Leicester and South Essex will be deploying Zircadian’s doctors’ rostering software, which had already been piloted by Nottingham University Hospitals NHS Trust and the Royal Bournemouth and Christchurch Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust.

The contracts will also see Poole Hospital adopt SMART’s e-rostering and bank management software, and Hywel Dda Local Health Board implement HMT for e-rostering and bank management.
