CIPD backs guidelines for top-quality internships

A government Common Best Practice Code for high-quality internships was launched jointly last month by the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development (CIPD) and the Institute of Chartered Accountants in
England and Wales (ICAEW).

It draws on the CIPD’s own internships guide, Internships that Work: A Guide for Employers, and is intended for use by organisations seeking to create fair, open and quality internships.

Jackie Orme, CIPD chief executive, said: ‘Internships are a valuable resource for those looking to improve their employability… We are pleased to see the message so comprehensively reinforced in this code.’
