Purely Payroll director settles legal claim

Melanie Pizzey, a former director at Payroll World publisher Maximvs, has reached an out-of-court settlement, following allegations that she breached confidentiality in Maximvs’ client database.
Pizzey, who is now the director of payroll recruiter Purely Payroll, was alleged to have misused information obtained from Maximvs’ recruitment consultancy, Chase Moulande, thereby putting her in breach of her contractual obligations.
The allegations were defended in the High Court. An undisclosed settlement was reached. Maximvs was represented by Candey LLP.
Update: An injunction brought by Pizzey in an attempt to stop publication of the above story was defeated by Payroll World/Athene Publishing in Birmingham District Registry last month. Costs were awarded to Payroll World/Athene Publishing. Athene was represented by RPC/Matthew Nicklin.
