Oracle updates tools for mobile compatibility

Oracle has released updated versions of its business intelligence tools that are compatible with mobile devices.

Solutions including Oracle Human Resources Analytics are now compatible with iPad and iPhone, meaning payroll and HR managers can manage workforce and HR performance away from their desks.

The new functionality means decisions can be made in less time and staff can operate with more flexibility.

Other tools that have been updated include Oracle Business Intelligence, Oracle Business Intelligence Applications and Oracle Real-Time Decisions. Their new features incorporate extended online analytical processing (OLAP), in-memory platform support, enhanced real-time decision management features and new certifications.

Rosie Warner, HCM business development director at Oracle, said the business intelligence tools were vital for good HR. ‘Business intelligence tools allow companies to get a holistic, enterprise-wide view of the business, and nowhere is that more important than in HR,’ she said.

‘Oracle Human Resources Analytics is a complete, pre-built business intelligence solution, specifically for HR departments, which helps them to understand workforce and HR performance.’

Paul Rodwick, vice president of product management at Oracle Business Intelligence, said the releases ‘provide customers with a wide range of new capabilities that extend intelligence to the iPad and iPhone, offer more powerful visualisation, interactivity, performance and scalability features to their enterprise resource planning and customer relationship management applications, and optimise customer interactions and decisions in real time’.
