Acrede takes on Karen Paterson as group CEO
Payroll World columnist Karen Paterson has been appointed group CEO of global payroll and HR software provider Acrede.
Acrede, based in Jersey, claims to have Invented the ‘first true global payroll system’ and prides itself on systems that use Software-as-a-Service technology to enhance traditional Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) tools. The company is also focused on improving global services by utilising opportunities offered by the cloud.
Paterson, an award-winning entrepreneur, said of her appointment: ‘Technology has developed considerably in the last 10 years, and Acrede has been set up to fully harness these benefits for our clients. There is a significant opportunity for businesses to use the cloud to reduce payroll costs and increase efficiency and accuracy, with no negative impact on security and compliance.
‘A blended approach is needed to global payroll, which may have a requirement to integrate with an existing ERP,’ she added. ‘We have the capability not only to do this, but to also virtualise the ERP environment, thus maximising efficiency.’
Paterson formerly worked for BDO, one of the world’s largest accountancy organisations, running a financial services and corporate finance department.
Alongside her role at Acrede, she is writing a PhD in business administration at Southampton University.
